What We Do

To date we have assisted over 700 ex-offenders re-entry clients and 2,117 general clientele.
The majority of our clinics have a guest speaker on a relevant topic of interest to the community.  In the recent past we have had various Judges, Prosecutors, Court Analysts, prominent attorneys and community service personnel to provide open discussions and educational seminars on topics that our client can retain and use.

Our clinic is open on select Saturdays throughout the year from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M., with the first hour to hour-half reserved for scheduled presentations.  Thereafter we enter into the servicing of the clients.  Currently, the Legal Clinic does not take on any clients, but we do provide referrals where applicable..

Often we are called upon to provide presentations for schools or participate in community events and fairs including specialized clinics for church auxiliaries and other organizations.  As a Volunteer with the Mesereau Free Legal Clinic, you will have the opportunity to participate with us while you give back.

Many of our volunteers have been with us since the birth of the clinic or even as a law student who are now practicing attorneys because they find the volunteer experience rewarding.

We welcome the newly licensed attorney looking for their niche, the seasoned attorney looking to renew or even reignite their passion.  We encourage and welcome the law and paralegal students to come and sharpen their skills in Issue Spotting, Client Interviews and learn the application of the law and appropriate remedies.  We also encourage all others who simply want to give back because an encouraging smile, empathetic ear or pat on the back goes a long way to make our clients feel heard, understood, valued and empowered.  Every volunteer brings a unique gift to our clinic.

So if you are interested in joining our hardworking and dedicated volunteers.  Click on the link below to submit your application.  We would love to have you as part of the Mesereau Free Legal Clinic family.
